Does anyone know where i can find information on a breed of cattle known as "Randall's Lineback Cattle?" I need to know where they originated, their predominant colors, and why they are popular.

I know (via e-mail) several people with Randalls that they use as oxen. Not only are they stiking in appearence, they are excellent ixen, but very expensive. Seems that most of them come from a guy in Canada.

I own a pair of almost 2-year old Randalls. Easy to train, a joy to have around. Just like a pair of golden retrievers - except for size!

Do you have any ideas about where to get Randall's? I'm in Vermont. I also understand that they are quite expensive. What am I looking at for cost?

I hope it's not bad form to dredge up a topic this old. There is a website about Randall Cattle, The Randall Cattle Registry, Inc.. My sense is that they aren't outrageously expensive, but may still be in short supply.
