Hi,
I'm new to cattle and bought 4 bred commercial cows about 2 months ago. The thing is the guy that sold them to me bought them from an auction and didn't know when or to what they were bred. They were pretty skinny. They are now nice and full.
Is there any way to tell how long they've been bred? The udders are not full yet and they have no come in heat so I believe they are indeed all pregnant but I am clueless as to when they'll calf.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you have an AI tech around close have him palpate them. If not then take a chance on a vet, but find out first if he has had any experience doing this.

A good large animal vet can palpate them and tell you fairly close, usually within a couple of weeks if they're very far along.

Just stick your hand in...If the calf bites you, she's close to calving...
