I took these pictures with my cell phone and I need a camera to get some pictures of these calves.

Looks like they're getting the job done. Those are some of the best belties that I've seen but I haven't been around many.

Nice pictures and cattle. What else is in that holstein heifer? She's gotta have something else in her. Not enough black.

Thank! This is second year without any belted calves....must be our bull? These calves still has two months left before weaning time in late Sept or early Oct. Our red calves come from the cows we brought last spring as the customer was using registered Red Angus bulls on his cows and I really like how the red calves look and I am planning to keep the only red heifer calf as a replacement in the herd.

All belties come from a pure belted galloway cow I used to show in 4-H 12 years ago. You just need add some Angus blood in these belties.

As for the Holstein heifer, I have no idea where my aunt got her from but I know she always got the calves from a dairy farm. My aunt decided to have a family cow so she got this holstein heifer.

very nice! Your phone did a good job. Thanks for sharing the pics.

The Holstein is probably pure bred. The mostly white is common.

Yeah I live in central area Minnesota so we are getting rain...lots. The rivers are very high at this moment. However southwest MN remained very dry and not so much green right now.

Thanks for the positive compliments about the belties and the herd.

Your cows are getting the job done nicely, just don't skimp on bull power and buy the best bulls you can afford.

Another time the belties will calve belted calves again, regardless of the bull.
The real question is "when" as it has been awhile since last belted calf was born three years ago and to be honest our belties throw WAY more solid calves than belted calves. In fact four beltie cross cows that has never had a belted calf despite of have their 5th/6th calves on their side. Used to have one or two belted calves each a crop and we usually ate them but I'm start to miss these beltie steaks! Very marbling and flavorful.

Belted trait may be dominant but they have too much angus blood in them.

Thank you! I trade hay bales for these mommas with red calves and a red heifer yearling. (long story short story that the past owner's house has flooded so he cannot afford $$ to buy more hay bales). He has nice registered RA bulls for sure.

Took few pictures this morning while check on the herd
