Old John Deere mower questions

I came across an old John Deere sickle mower. I can't read but just a little of the ID tag, but the mower appears to be suspended from the tractor by chains, no 3 point hitch. Also there is a board that attaches to mower part to the pto. I would like to restore this piece back to operational conditions. Does anyone have any idea how I can find a manual on this or send me a picture of one of these old mowers that I can use as a model to go by? I think I can duplicate most of the parts if I can just get something to go by.
