Now this is scary!

Help Support CattleToday:

Forestry: gets lonely out in the woods. Trees don't offer much affection.

Fisheries: same, who wants to kiss a fish.

Farming: real puzzle. Cows are loving sweet animals.

Yes. I think you answered it. But WHO will take care of our cows if we commit sewerside.

Remember the Tom T. Hall song. Whose gonna take care of my hogs?

It's always a sad situation when someone takes their own life. When I was a volunteer fireman/first responder I saw the aftermath more times than I care to remember. Personally I would suggest that if you are contemplating it stick your head in a bucket of water. This way if you change your mind you at least have the option to pull it back out....

I knew that logging and commercial fishing were #1 and 2 for on the job fatalities with farming not far behind in about the #5 slot. I had never heard that in regard to suicide. Sort of strange because I have spent my whole life in those three professions and I have known a number of people who lost their life in all three professions yet I never heard of a single suicide. That is a rate that exceeds the of on the job deaths in farmers and is very near the rate of accidental deaths in logging and fishing.

I've farmed, fished and worked in the oil field which is also dead now..

Oh and I cut wood for myself.. I'm doomed

what if your a crop farmer then your lonely because there are no cows

I've always thought row crop country was depressing anyways. There's no mystery to life. You don't get to wonder what's over that hill or behind those trees. You just see corn for 5 miles off. I'll take the hills any day. :cowboy:

Not to worry. Everything has a 100% death rate if you stay at it long enough.
