EVIDENCE FOR CREATION

1. The Fossil Record...Evolutionists have constructed the Geologic Column in order to illustrate the supposed progression of "primitive" life forms to "more complex" systems we observe today. Yet, "since only a small percentage of the earth's surface obeys even a portion of the geologic column the claim of their having taken place to form a continuum of rock/life/time over the earth is therefore a fantastic and imaginative contrivance.1" "[T]he lack of transitional series cannot be explained as being due to the scarcity of material. The deficiencies are real, they will never be filled."2 This supposed column is actually saturated with "polystrate fossils" (fossils extending from one geologic layer to another) that tie all the layers to one time-frame. "[T]o the unprejudiced, the fossil record of plants is in favor of special creation." 3

2. Decay of Earth's Magnetic Field... Dr. Thomas Barnes, Emeritus Professor of Physics at the University of Texas at El Paso, has published the definitive work in this field.4 Scientific observations since 1829 have shown that the earth's magnetic field has been measurably decaying at an exponential rate, demonstrating its half-life to be approximately 1,400 years. In practical application its strength 20,000 years ago would approximate that of a magnetic star. Under those conditions many of the molecules necessary for life processes could not form. These data demonstrate that earth's entire history is young, within a few thousand of years.

3. The Global Flood... The Biblical record clearly describes a global Flood during Noah's day. Additionally, there are hundreds of Flood traditions handed down through cultures all over the world. 5 M.E. Clark and Henry Voss have demonstrated the scientific validity of such a Flood providing the sedimentary layering we see on every continent. 6 Secular scholars report very rapid sedimentation and periods of great carbonate deposition in earth's sedimentary layers..7 It is now possible to prove the historical reality of the Biblical Flood.8

4. Population Statistics...World population growth rate in recent times is about 2% per year. Practicable application of growth rate throughout human history would be about half that number. Wars, disease, famine, etc. have wiped out approximately one third of the population on average every 82 years. Starting with eight people, and applying these growth rates since the Flood of Noah's day (about 4500 years ago) would give a total human population at just under six billion people. However, application on an evolutionary time scale runs into major difficulties. Starting with one "couple" just 41,000 years ago would give us a total population of 2 x 1089. 9 The universe does not have space to hold so many bodies.

5. Radio Halos...Physicist Robert Gentry has reported isolated radio halos of polonuim-214 in crystalline granite. The half-life of this element is 0.000164 seconds! To record the existence of this element in such short time span, the granite must be in crystalline state instantaneously.10 This runs counter to evolutionary estimates of 300 million years for granite to form.

6. Human Artifacts throughout the Geologic Column...Man-made artifacts - such as the hammer in Cretaceous rock, a human sandal print with trilobite in Cambrian rock, human footprints and a handprint in Cretaceous rock – point to the fact that all the supposed geologic periods actually occurred at the same time in the recent past.11

7. Helium Content in Earth's Atmosphere... Physicist Melvin Cook, found that helium-4 enters our atmosphere from solar wind and radioactive decay of uranium. At present rates our atmosphere would accumulate current helium-4 amounts in less than 10,000 years.12

8. Expansion of Space Fabric...Astronomical estimates of the distance to various galaxies gives conflicting data.13 The Biblical Record refers to the expansion of space by the Creator14. Astrophysicist Russell Humphries demonstrates that such space expansion would dilate time in distant space.15 This could explain a recent creation with great distances to the stars.

9. Design in Living Systems...A living cell is so awesomely complex that its interdependent components stagger the imagination and defy evolutionary explanations. A minimal cell contains over 60,000 proteins of 100 different configurations.16 The chance of this assemblage occurring by chance is 1 in 10 4,478,296 .17

10. Design in the Human Brain...The human brain is the most complicated structure in the known universe.18 It contains over 100 billion cells, each with over 50,000 neuron connections to other brain cells.19 This structure receives over 100 million separate signals from the total human body every second. If we learned something new every second of our lives, it would take three million years to exhaust the capacity of the human brain. 20 In addition to conscious thought, people can actually reason, anticipate consequences, and devise plans - all without knowing they are doing so.21

Sorry my friend. Evolution is not a perfect explanation but that doesn't mean it is not on the right track.
Genesis is the most accepted theory, circa 2500 BC.
I accept a Creator. I don't take Genesis verbatim. it just doesn't match the evidence.

I must have missed something but yet again where did the dinosaurs come from??????????

Merry Christmas to everyone also

You accept a creator. If the creator you accept is God but yet you don't take His word verbatim, then you have just called God a liar. I don't think He is happy with that.

Maybe I'm missing something. Is everyone throwing the Bible under the bus? I'm not your typical stand up Christian. I don't expect everyone to believe in the bible but I wonder what you are saying when you  . You may not believe in the Bible but it is disrespectful to mock it in a christian society. This is a Christian Society! We celebrate Christmas! If you can read English you more than likley grew up in a Christian society. Laws based on Christianity. If you have a hard time understanding this, Muslim countries have laws based on the Koran. The only countries I'm aware of that don't believe in a higher being are communist. I can't think of any countries that were ever built from the ground up that did not think their was a higher being. Are we too modern to believe there is something more powerful than us?

God created them. One question often asked is why they are not mentioned in the Bible. Well, armadillos, racoons, bluegills, Canada geese, bison, coyotes, and pinworms aren't mentioned in the Bible either. Maybe you'd like to know what happened to them. Nobody knows. Cave paintings in Europe and North America exists that portray animals very much like what scientists think dinosaurs looked like. Job mentions animals that possibly could fit the description of dinosaurs. However, the subject of the Bible is not when, where, or why dinosaurs existed.

hillsdown,
i have a theory on dinasours. Might be wrong, could have some points of merit, maybe, an again i could be way out in the end zone lol

Early in the bible, man lived a long time. 7-800 years and more.

today we live much less.
Crocks, aligators, salamanders etc of the reptiles they grow and grow until they die. What if they had the same or similar life span of humans at that time?
What if things changed after the flood?
I dunno, thought alot about it and it's one of the questions i want to ask when i get to heaven, along with many others.

I believe the bible verbatim. If I'm wrong i will be told in heaven. But if i believe otherwise, i will have nothing to back up my reason for thinking its verbatim in some places and not in others. If i beleive in verbatim of the bible, and God says why did you believe that, my answer would be:

"It's Your book, if You had wanted it believed differently, You coulld have inspired a few different words...You said faith of a child, here i am, just accepting your word on that faith", with a contrite smile of course.

God is not the author of confusion. He is not going to say some thing in the bible, and not mean it. Or double talk, or confuse us.
Besides, God is God. If He created the world in six days who are we to say otherwise? Just cause our simple minds can not fathom this does not mean that it didn't happen. Just means our minds only understand finite reasoning

There is no mention of dinosaurs in the Bible because the common people could not read and write at that time, and the fact that man and beast did not roam the world at the same time, man was many years after the dinosaurs, perhaps after God created the dinosaurs saw what a mess things were and caused the big bang which wiped them out and decided that he would make something more in his own image, and that is man, and I think we all know the story of Babel.

Chrisy , there's no mention of the word "dinosaur" in the bible. The word wasn't in our language until the 1800's.
If anyone can take the trip , the Answers in Genesis museum in Kentucky is well worth it. Prepare to Believe !

I really don't spend a lot of time trying to figure out the if's and why's of the past. I live mostly in the NOW and figure when its all said and done and I meet my maker i'll understand all of this that I need to know. Of course i could be an oddball also. But thats just the way i am.

God. He is the Creator of everything, so they came from God. It says in Genesis that God created in six days and rested on the seventh. Do we know for sure if Gods day is equal to our day. Or is God's day equal to a thousand years, ten thousand years or whatever? I look at Gods Word as being absolute truth, but at the same time I don't believe that the Bible is intended to be read in the wooden, literal sense in all instances. If you consider the time factor in the non-literal sense it gives opportunity for creationism and archeological evidence to agree.

"In one of the biggest courtroom clashes between faith and evolution since the 1925 Scopes Monkey Trial, a federal judge barred a Pennsylvania public school district Tuesday from teaching "intelligent design" in biology class, saying the concept is creationism in disguise.

U.S. District Judge John E. Jones delivered a stinging attack on the Dover Area School Board, saying its first-in-the-nation decision in October 2004 to insert intelligent design into the science curriculum violates the constitutional separation of church and state.

The ruling was a major setback to the intelligent design movement, which is also waging battles in Georgia and Kansas. Intelligent design holds that living organisms are so complex that they must have been created by some kind of higher force.

Jones decried the "breathtaking inanity" of the Dover policy and accused several board members of lying to conceal their true motive, which he said was to promote religion.

A six-week trial over the issue yielded "overwhelming evidence" establishing that intelligent design "is a religious view, a mere re-labeling of creationism, and not a scientific theory," said Jones, a Republican and a churchgoer appointed to the federal bench three years ago.

"In his 139-page ruling on the Dover, Pa., "intelligent design" case, federal district Judge John E. Jones sets out to kill ID's scientific pretensions once and for all. "After a six-week trial that spanned twenty-one days and included countless hours of detailed expert witness presentations, the Court is confident that no other tribunal in the United States is in a better position than are we to traipse into this controversial area," he writes. Jones proceeds to tear ID limb from limb "in the hope that it may prevent the obvious waste of judicial and other resources which would be occasioned by a subsequent trial" on the same question."

CPL,

All credibility to everything you cite is lost, if you use Carl Baugh, (i.e. 11 Baugh, Carl, Why Do Men Believe Evolution AGAINST ALL ODDS? (Oklahoma City: Hearthstone, 1999)

Do you care to see video tape of the man opening envelopes, rmoving checks from them, and not even reading the cards or letters enclosed within the envelopes? Do you care to see video of him verbally attacking paleantologists doing research in the Paluxy River over and over again?

Glen J Kuban is a very good Christian man. Research his work and you'll find the truth on "Doctor" Carl Baugh. He is a professional con man. On judegement day, he is going to have some "splaining" to do.

Funniest of all was Baugh's pressurized chamber in regards to gravitational experiments. He claims a fish grew twice as big under twice as much atmospheric pressure. Put that same fish in the bottom of a lake and the pressure will be much greater. It is unbelieveable that people don't realize this.

Carl Baugh is a fraud plain and simple. People like him turn other people against Christianity. He's in his business for the money. I don't know the others you cited.

J.T. I don't have any problem with God. I have a problem with the false profits he warns us about.
