I guess the fire at pidcoke. its about 45 minutes north. of me. there was another fire west of temple but I think they got it out. only burned a couple hundred acres. the pidoke fire has 5000 acres burned in about a day. real nasty rough country.

I think they got a handle on the llano fires. Still burning but contained is the cafe gossip, no news reports in a few days. That fire in coryell county is giving em he//

Ok, I'm thinking this group may be involved with any new fires that might start.
 
Had a truck pulling a load of furniture blow a tire and catch fire about a week ago. Burned into the pasture in two places a little bit. Didn’t go far once it got into the short green grass on my side of the fence......take note of that Texas Highway Department....it’s the end of July and you still haven’t mowed the right away.......
 
We put out one fire just west of OK City this spring that started from a u-joint going bad. Drive shaft was laying there and truck was down the road 1/2 mile.

Actually it's about 60 miles south adn east of me CB but when I stepped out this morning early all you could smell was burned cedar in the air. All the VFD's are sending what men and equipment they can send. It was already 101 at 9:30AM today.

I've heard there was one at Gatesville that is 100% controlled.....yesterday I read that the one at Ft. Hood had expanded to over 8000 acres. Still dozens and dozens of small fires popping up everywhere. FD's are doing an awesome job.
 
A couple days ago there was a house fire here that ignited a pasture. Six fire departments responded due to the dry conditions. They limited the fire pretty quickly and stopped it from spreading to other houses. It had the potential of getting really rank.
 
The wind shifted a few days back and blew the fires back on themselves. Allowing fire fighters to get the big fires contained. New fires popping up daily but with everyone one high alert they seem to be getting dealt with faster.
