They caught an arsonist in California that was setting fires. He was driving on the rode and throwing flares out. How many other fires may have been started this way is this an organized gang of terrorist setting the fires. Uses a lot of resources fighting the fires, could be world wide.

There is fires still on the big island. That might be a good place to go, probably be a lot of volunteers.

Have one around here too.. 29 of them over the course of a few years are highly suspect

I think flat tires cause some fires too.. some people just keep driving on the flat until it disintegrates.. Saw a guy drive by our place, 5 minutes later I could smell the rubber smoke.. next day when I went to town, you could see the rim marks on the 7 miles of dirt road, then another 9 miles of pavement had grooves in it too..
 
The ones that they have caught setting the fires should be dropped in the middle of a couple of those fires that are not contained, and let them suffer the consequences. I have no sympathy or pity for anyone who is willfully and purposely destroying property by intentionally setting fires. They deserve to burn up in them and then maybe the next one will think twice. Shoot 'em in the legs so they can't walk/run and drop them where they can get the full effect of what they set.

And yes, I am getting very short tempered and low tolerance to all these idiots.

if it's a good fire, no need to make them lame first.. let them run a little.

Close to my old neck of the woods, San Angelo. About an hour travelling East.
There is some CT member here from the area. Think he's up closer to Sweetwater tho.

Yep, there's not much in Barnhart tho unless they grew a lot since I was last there. Didn't even have a real conveinence store.
At least Brownwood has some pretty good lodging and decent places to eat.

Be careful to wherever you go. I know you have worked in this a fair amount of time, but fires are just so horrific.... scares me to death.
Boy the ones in California are looking REALLY BAD. And when they are out and the "season" is over...then they will have to contend with rain and mudslides on the burned over areas. I am not a big fan of the "Unhinged" people who live in Ca.... but I know there are some decent ones too and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Jan, the worst thing is the season has just began. This may get even worse.
