Oh my gosh!!! This may be the best thread I have read here!!! :lol2: What a great way to start the day. With a big laugh!!!!

I just want you to know, when I saw your overuse of exclamation marks at the end of your sentences, I got dizzy, passed out, and had to spend a few hours in the ER; however, I'm ok now. :lol2:
Excuse me, so sorry to offend your delicate eyes. :?

Public school's are not the problem.
The problem is parent's sending Johnny there expecting a rocket scientist without
any parental oversight in the school and at home.
The school is owned by the community you pick the board and superintendent.
Sitting on our ass doing nothing is why we have the current problems.

Public school's are not the problem.
You are correct!
It is not the public schools that is the problem, it is the teachers in the pubic schools. More specifically the TEACHERS UNION!
In case you haven't noticed, the school administrator nor the school board can do nothing without the approval of the teachers union.
So I place all the blame on the teachers for letting their union take over our public school system who runs it without regard for what the parents/local community wants.
IMO, this conflict can never be resolved until teachers stop being sheeples to their own union and yield to their local communities wishes.

That is not a problem here.
Union only has the power you give them.
I have been on both sides of the picket line.
In a right to work state you can end that crap right quick.
All you have to do next contract is write what you want and have the balls to back it up.
Amazing what a six month to a year strike can do to a persons thinking.
And yes I have walked a picket line for six months.

That is not a problem here.
Union only has the power you give them.
Not true.
The union power comes from the Federal government who implement the union's wishes and if school boards doesn't comply they lose their federal funding.

All you have to do next contract is write what you want and have the balls to back it up.
Right! And now the school board not only losses it's Federal funding but it has now created an even bigger problem.
The children have no where to go all day while both parents have been forced to work by the Federal government just to get by.
IMO what the Federal and the teachers union has done to create "latch key kids" is disgraceful enough and now you want to endorse/crate "home alone kids".
I think it is time to say enough is enough to the teachers union and fire every dam teacher.
Is it no wonder home schooling is now the way to go.
Fact is It only takes a 5th grade eduction to teach a 4 grader and It only takes a 6th grade eduction to teach a 5 grader.
Fact is the only education a teacher need is a GED.
Get my point?

The point is you want to whine about the system but are not willing to do anything about it.
Let the teachers go on strike hire replacements and keep on trucking.
You set the next contract to expire the first day of summer and if you don't have an agreement in two weeks lock them out and start rehiring. I have sat on both sides of the negotiation table two can play this game.
We walked out in 1980 and six months later came back for less than the company originally offered.
The company did not miss one days production.
That will get your mind right about how good your wages and benefits are right quick.
Your in a right to work state you can break that crap up. If not keep being enslaved to a socialist system.
The union was a necessary evil in its day to bring unscrupulous companies in control of legal slavery.
The union today isn't what it was 30 or 50 years ago it is big business.

Not really. It requires a Bachelors degree....but some still have no common sense nor an ability to "teach".

the company originally offered.
HOLD THE PHONE! We are not talking about a "company" here.
That is a totally different ballgame.
With a company you don't have a third party making the rules and being able to withhold funds.
OK, lets say a school board could fire all their teacher, which by law they can not, and sets the minimum educational level at a GED.
Could they now hire new teachers with only a GED and still receive federal funding?
Could they leave out of their curricula anything to do homosexuality and teach religion?
Could they say prayers in school and salute the flag?
Deny girls on the football team?
Just to name a few thing the Federal government says they can not do!

The school district doesn't have to take Federal money.
That is what independent school district stands for.
Maybe you need to work on state laws you do not have to have a degree to teach in Texas.
You have become a servant.

That's temporary and subject to numerous conditions too CB. The rare exception these days. But I've know quite a few teachers aides who were much better teachers than the actual teacher they aided.

The more of your posts I read, the more I'm convinced you're about as sharp as a bowling ball.

I have to go with Liz on this one. I have seen the teachers union in action. She ain't crazy more like an inconvenient truth.
