If you read my post on the beginner board you might appreciate this regarding my daughter's heifer you might appreciate this.

You've all heard stories of people not being able to butcher an animal that they've raised for meat for one reason or another.

My wife has a new approach. When my daughter's calf was abandoned by its mother my boss tried to draft it onto one of his heifers that had lost it's first calf. We had taken both heifer and calf to our place and kept them in the barn together for a couple of weeks.

In order to differentiate between animals my wife started calling my boss' heifer "DC" short for Don's Cow.

Long story short, the draft didn't take and DC's name changed to "DCW".... You can make it mean what you want but according to my wife it stands for Dead Cow Walking!
