Wondering if any special concerns a person should have with calving and with a young calf experiencing his or her first few days in triple digit weather?
You need to be sure the calf gets up and sucks pretty quick. A lot of these late summer calves will be pretty sluggish. A calf might make it three or four days without sucking in the winter, but it won't take long for one to dry up and die this time of year.

and if you're in an area with fireants, & they don't get up right away, you can end up with a blind calf.

Mine do fine in hot weather. The little ones will breathe hard and you can tell they're hot but they get through it. I don't try to interfere.

Last summer a one day old calf got lost in the woods for 6 days before I found him. By then mama didn't want him so I gave him to a friend down the road to bottle feed. He survived. They're tough little boogers. Now he's a big ol' pet and they can't bring themselves to eat him or sell him.

btw, mama went in the bank.
