Hereford Bull: DR Achiever - semen

I don't know a thing about this bull, and am not looking for Herefords. However, I saw this post for DR Achiever semen on the E. Oregon Craigs site; didn't know if that was something some of you might be interested in.

A great Hereford bull for making mama cows, but that's about twice what it's been selling for in other places over the last year or so.

The Achiever son that's pictured is: FHF 8403 STARBUCK 19H

I would like to find some semen from him.

Like I said . . . don't really know a thing about him. When I saw the price tag of $200/straw, my thinking was "WHAT!?!" I did some very perfunctory GOOGLE to see if it was a joke. Apparently not. He was a hot bull years ago, and the Craigs seller thinks he/she still has a hot commodity today. But since I know nada about Herfs, I was just passing this along so that someone else could grab the gold mine, if there was gold there.

I've yet to receive a reply to my phone call or my e-mail from that posting. I, and a couple of others I've known, finally gave up. Thanks for trying, though! :tiphat:

I don't think it's Macon's deal - somebody named Lynn Levins, according to the e-mail. I just looked and the last e-mail attempt I made was on 1/3/11.

I'll probably make another attempt, but expect the same results that I, and others, have had before.

I tried contacting the Frederickson Ranch on numerous occasions, never got a reply back. Contacted the Wards, they told me at the time his semen didn't qualify for export and did their level best to sell me semen of one of his sons, called Tank, instead.

Try http://www.pyramidbeef.com contact Nate Frederickson its Marks son. He should be able to at least get you a answer about the semen. Mark moved to South Dakota this fall to work with Nate. I know Mark If you want me to I can try contacting him for you.

Hello, I am here to defend my honor. I am the owner of the Achiever semen here in Oregon. I bought it 20 years ago from All West Select Sires.

I am well aware that my semen is not worth $200 a straw, I posted it at that price to keep the tire kicker's and the smoke blowers from wasting my time. I figured that when someone came along that really was interested in it, then we could make a deal. I don't don't need to sell it, but being as I raise registered Longhorns, I will never use it, thought I'd put it out there to see if someone wanted the gentics.
