Herbicide for grass and alfalfa

Does anyone have any recommendations for a herbicide that will kill spotted knapweed in an existing hay field of alfalfa and timothy? I have talked to many people about this and everything I come up with will either kill the alfalfa or kill the grass. Spotted knapweed is hard to kill and most 2,4 D stuff will not kill it very effectively.

How much knapweed are we talking about? So far I haven't found anything that can be broadcast sprayed that won't kill the alfalfa, but I'm still looking. Would it be feasible to spot spray? If so, Curtail should take care of the problem. It can't be broadcast sprayed because it will also 'harm' the alfalfa. Do you have a Weed & Pest office in your county? If so, you might want to check with them. They might be able to point you in the right direction as far as a herbicide goes.
