I am looking for something to haul feed to the pasture. Right now I haul about 800 lbs. a day in 5 gal. buckets I like feeding the calves in bunks because it makes them calm when it comes time to load them up or get them back to the barn to be worked. I still have some old creep feeders left over from the cow calf days that I can remove the sides on and use as self feeders but I don't won't to loose my ability to move the calves from pasture to pasture by myself. With my ATV and buckets I can lead them anywhere I want and man that really makes things easy on us when comes time to get'em up. I have heard of a feed buggy that mounts on the back of a Kawisaki mule or Kabota but I haven't found one on the internet yet. Any coments please.

I saw one iwth on auger run by a small gas engine that was towed behind a pickup. Don;t see why a smaller one couldn;t be built for an ATV

dun

We have several Canadian companies building hopperbottom tanks; some with hydraulic unload augers but most use 12volt so can be carried and run by any truck; there are also trailer mounts for ATV use (need battery pack). They work good for grain or pellets and can be used for feeding from just several head to several hundred if necessary! We use ours yearround!

Can you tell me the names of some of these Co. web-site or phone numbers.

An outfit in El Reno,Ok built something like the last two photos.
They added a feed trough accessible from the sides and back.
Some photovoltic cells. A timer and motor.
So every day the thing dispenses X amount of feed.
I don't know if they ever made it past the proto type stage or not.

Hope this helps you out; probably too far to ship but you may be able to get ideas and a welding shop could build you one!

If you really want to take the cheap path, I have seen old combine grain tanks made into what you are after. I want to stress the old part, most of what I have seen is probably harvested from a machine made in the 30's or 40's. They would be of smaller size, manageable for an ATV, and were a bare-bones design (top-fed and bottom dumped, with few inlet holes to patch). And, if you find an old Gleaner, she should be galvinized, with little or no rust.
