TSC stopped selling these and I bet they are left overs.....I bought one of the Jred 2166 71cc pro saws and already have a tracking # to be delivered Monday.

Same saw as a Husqvarna 450 $199 is a steal

Same saw as a Husqvarna 455 $249 is a steal

Same saw as a Husqvarna 372xp In a Husky these are over $800 without a bar and chain.

I have a 2166 , it's been a great saw. Ran it 3 hrs today.
That is a big saw as I bet you are tired. I ran a Husky 350 4 hours Thursday and I could feel it the next day.

I have had 2 Husqvarna 372xps, a 365 and a Jred 2165 and in the 65 to 70 cc range about as good as you can get. They are easy to work on and plenty of parts available, used and all. If he marks these back down like he had them Thursday I will on another 2166 or two. Even at the current price of $495 is a good buy as that saw is not a toy and will handle the 24" and with a skip chain a 28" bar. Thanks for the information M-5. I just recently sold a Jred CS 2250 on Ebay...here it is and they are pretty zippy https://www.ebay.com/itm/Jonsered-CS2250s-chainsaw-Husqvarna-450-350-460-/292871693704

For the $199 is a steal if anybody wants one.
I run a 24 " bar most of the time and the way it makes it hum I would think it could handle a 32" no problem. I keep a 20" bar and chain in my carry all if doing alot of limbing.

Here is a good upgrade that will make a difference and very easy to do on the CS 2166 as that will be the first thing I do to the one when I receive it.

Are the two cheaper saws good saws?
I have owned the 50cc Jred saw which is basically the same as the 55cc just a bigger bore. Also have owned a Husky 435, 440, 445 and 460 before in the homeowner clamshell design family. They are EPA designed saws like all new ones which I don't like as good (baffle in the muffler, closed port cylinder design, limiters on the carb adjustments, intake redesigns on the carb and cylinder which all equals to less air flow, harder to work on, more expensive to work on etc. etc. etc. IMO comparing Husky/Jred to Stihl I like the Husky engines better and everything on the saws Stihl. For that price at TSC they had the 50cc $349 and the 55cc $399.

It arrived today ...Jred CS2171 as you can't buy a homeowners Stihl 291 for that. This thing has the mag case pro built design. Same saw as a Husqvarna 372xp and with bar and chain close to $900. The powerhead weighs 13.4 lbs and a 12cc less MS362 with a wrap handle weights 13.2 lbs.. You will never beat the price on any of these I listed on the first post. This saw will make a toy out of a Stihl MS 362 and they are $700.

Based on your recommendation, I pulled the trigger on one just because mine is getting a little long in the tooth. I need one to carry around when I check fencelines after storms. I consider you (and mist the expert on all things chain saws (and mist blowers :) ).

I believe you will be happy with the saw.

I screwed my post up and it would not let me edit it, sorry for the wording.

Those Jred saws won't ever be cheap enough for me to buy one. Never seen one stand up to day after day work.
What brand/size will stand up to you day after day work?

Stihl has been my pick for a long time. Have run 44's 46' 66' even 056. The old 56 was a monster. Seen them all back when I was cutting logs for a living.

Here is a nice 076........on those big saws Stihl is hard to beat thou Husky has some nice ones. From what I have read the Stihl Ms441, Ms461 Husky 390xp 395xp and 3120xp are being discontinued and maybe not replaced.

It must have been back in the 70s and 80s when you logged as those 056s were from that era and the O models from the 80s early 90s as I had a 066 at one time. It was a horse of a saw and didn't have a decomp valve on it. It would just about take your hand/arm off starting.

The 056 wasn't much good for cleaning fence rows. I worked in the woods off and on most of my life I think. Still do now and then when I have time from other work.
