I had a pair of insulated overalls that had a foam rubber kind of stuff as insulation. Didn;t set them on fire but I melted the foam insulation stuff and the plastic zipper in one leg.

Up front cost may run 2-3k to get one in. But has been worth every penny, peace of mind and no electricity or chopping holes in the ice of a pond daily. Mine is used for cows only, calves wouldn't use it imo. Feeders would.

Cows caught onto it fairly easily. If they dont drink it down completely (or it rains and turns cold) some water will freeze in the bottom of the bowl, just tap with a mallet and its fine. I just check it every morning I feed - have never had the internals freeze.
