Wondering what y'all have come up with for clever water gap designs?
Also do you like large areas or smaller areas around the water? Smaller makes sense so me in a way, to discourage loafing, but then if loafing happens anyways could block water access. I inherited a very large gap, fenced probably an acre or more around the water. My manager wants to build alleyways out of it to enable the use of smaller paddocks. I'd rather rebuild it now before adding the alleyways if there's a better design than a giant square with a trough in the middle.
My situation is about 600 head on high production rangeland in Nebraska. But I'd love to see anything y'all are proud of even if it's a totally different situation.
