I am going to look at this tractor in a few days and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them. He said it was like a ford 5000 series from the early 60s. It has a front end loader. Any input would be helpful.

They go over like a lead balloon around here. Outdated, and most of them were select-o-speeds - junk.

if its the auto skip it...there is a part in the tranny that cannot be replaced that likes to break

I didnt think they were very popular, so I wanted to get a few more opinions
the ford super major is a english built tractor.they built them in england.if the selecto speed wont shift smoothly though all the gears stay away from it.the tranny aint worth overhauling.1 word of warningalways put the tractor in park.never put it in nutrel an get off.the selectospeeds are bad about jumping in gear.so always put it in park an kill the tractor when you get off.better tobe safe than sorry.
