OK I am young and new at this whole thing and I got an old sickle mower and dont really now how 2 things hook up.

I pretty much have everthing figured out except these 2 ball and socket type things which I assume go to the lift arms for it to float kind of.

The tractor is an old ford 5000 but I dont think that it will hook up to it correctly. I think the arms are to thick but That is why I am asking here.

Any ideas on what I am talking about or have I lost everyone.

I spent half my childhood backing up a 501 to unclog it. The normal ball and socket brackets are made to work on a tractor with thin lower links such as the old style 2000-4000 priors and such. My father made a set of brackets to adapt the stabalizer brackets over to the thick style arms. To the best of my recollection, they were basically two rectangular pieces of steel (appr. 4"x8") with a bolt top and bottom that sandwiched the lower arm of the tractor. I don't remember how the ball and socket type arm attached to them, sorry.
