We run a cashcrop operation (small) and have a herd of cow/calves. Poor weather conditions last year gave us a shortage of good quality hay and it is expensive to buy up here. We have some corn and soya beans in storage and are considering feeding them to the cattle. The beans are raw. Does anyone have any suggestions on what the mixuture should be and are there any precautions using soya beans. We could purchase some oats cheap enough locally to add to the ration if necessary. We have a couple of 4H projects we want to feed too - will they require anything special or can we feed them the same ration.
thanks
