Dust in my Dodge!

Help Support CattleToday:

Best low-cost inconvenient method is to drive only after a rain....second high-cost method is to pave that 3.5 miles.
What you really want to hear practically speaking... the best way to keep dust out of your cab....is drive at 5-mph, windows up tight, and no a/c fan on.
I checked once on using SOY BEAN oil for dust control. Lot of people say its GREAT!!! Not too cheap though----- especially for 3.5 miles!!!

Mike Logan wrote a poem about "The Ranch Truck". I have his poetry books but that one was on the last page and the page is gone. Here is a bit of it though:

And, to boot, genuine humor-the kind sparked by that fine-focused, you-bet-I've-been-there detail, highlighted in the poem "Ranch Truck":

Hayhooks festoon the gearshift.

There's stockwhips on the seat.

Ol' Skipper's on the towchains

That's piled beneath my feet.

If you like Cowboy Poetry,real-life Cowboy Poetry, I recommend his "Laugh Kills Lonesome". You can find it on Amazon. Makes a great gift. He also has "Bronc to Breakfast" and a book of photographs and verse, "Ranchin' Is." My husband is in some of the photographs as we knew Mike well.
