Dexter calfs

I have just started my dexter herd and have 4 new baby calfs all around 1 month old now...my question is ...I've noticed some ticks on their bums not alot but a few and we havent gotten our cattle yards completed yet..that is 3 weeks off..(they were ordered) anyway...The mums all were blooded and had their tick fever syrum...would that protect the calfs until at least we are able to CATCH the lil suckers in 3 weeks to take care of their ticks. Also one of the mums has a creamy discharge from one of her eyes is that pinkeye? I am in Queensland Australia

Welcome to the boards! Have not had a case of pinkeye, just have seen the posts & pictures. Maybe someone else can help you. donna
