Dairy Cow... First time calver

How much grain should you feed a First Calf Jersey Heifer before and after she calves? I plan to milk her twice a day for all shes got. She weights almost 1000 pounds.

feed 1 lb of grain for each 2 1/2 - 3 lb of milk. i start them with about 3 or 4 lbs of grain twice a day for a couple of weeks before calving, then give 7 or 8 lbs twice a day & then slowly increase til you see what she will do
