That photo reminds me of my grandparents home, about the same time period, except their wallpaper was newspapers. Grands have been gone a long time, but the house is still standing. I like taking my grandkids and others for a tour. Most of the kids migrate to the outhouse and the spring. The adults read the 1940s newspapers on the wall and marvel at the kitchen without a sink and the wood cookstove.

Helped my sisters many years ago wallpaper our grandmother's living room, & Mawmaw insisted the flowered patterns to all align and match up, on a very unsquare wall, especially crooked where the ceiling met the wall.
I don't ever ever ever want to hang wallpaper or smell that nasty wallpaper paste again...........
