My granddaddy could do it every time. So could this old man that worked at Goldkist whn I did while I was in school. He'd run the feed routes with me, and he could get it every time. I have been successful at this maybe 5 times in my life.

I get it maybe 1 every 500 but can never do it again soon.

I won't say 100% but I get it 99% of the time... I worked in a feed mill when younger... Anyone here ever tie a millers knot to tie a 100 lb sack ????? Learned that too... and used it when I worked at the old grist mill also.

With the pretty side of the sack facing you, always start on the right side. Grab the small strip and a fingernail or two full of string with it. I about freaked out when I discovered that. From the left side it almost never works correctly.

I never pull the small strip of paper... always just the string; but it is how you learn what works.

I just grab the string and not the paper...on the right side like you suggested...has worked every time for quite a few years

Feed sacks are easy.. SEED bags are hard, the don't have the paper tape and it's a different knot... pull the wrong one and it'll never come undone
