I have a pasture that I overgrazed for 2 years not knowing how dumb that is. I had it limed last fall. Ran a renovator with bluegrass, orchard grass and perrinial rye per the county ext. agents directions. Fert. per the soil test, all done about 3-4 weeks ago. Sprayed 2,4D on sunday to kill the weeds. The new grass is hard to see but the older grasses are about 6-8" tall. Should I cut it to about 4" now so the new grasses have a chance or should I wait until everything goes to seed. I am not allowing any cattle on it or cutting any hay until I can hopefully get this field back into better shape. I am painfully aware of my mistakes and would like some advice on helping this field. Thanks for any advice.

If your not going to graze or bale it, I'ld wait another week till the 2,4-d has started to obviously killed the weekds, then cut it. I'ld still bale it if for no other reason then to get the duff off the field so the grass can get more sunlight.
