Cattle Illnesses & Problems

I read the board at least 2X a day. Sorry to hear that so many folks are having problems with their cattle--some with some serious issues. It especially hurts a small producer.

Guess there are a lot of things that can go wrong: bad feed, bad pasture, toxic things in soil, bad water, bad hay, unknowingly buying stock that has health or genetic problems (the seller never tells...right?), sudden changes in feed or hay, toxic weeds in pasture, purchasing an "acceptable looking" animal that had hidden problems, serious internal parasite problems, wrong breed for one's climate, cow that has had prior calving problems not revealed to buyer, temperament or personality problems not revealed, and the list goes on and on.

These things shouldn't happen to anyone who is trying to be a "good guy or good gal".
