you once owned and wish you had today.
The spoiled under thirty post made me think of all the old cars i've owned and would love to own again. I've thought of several in my 50yrs of having cars. The one that stands out the most. I bought a new GTO JUDGE with a 455ci 2 650 hollys and a 4 speed with 411 rear end. Came from the factory like that. Nice car but paid around $900 dollars worth of tickets while I owned it. Oh well was a lot younger then also.

my 1988 chevy suburban. i've got a million memories in that thing and i only had it a year. it was the sweetest party vehicle ever. and you could go anywhere with that beast. one day i came home from school and dad told me to clean it out, he sold it. needed the cash and its not a very practicle vehicle for a 15 year old anyway. so then i upgraded to my 1989 nissan sentra. i get made fun of for it, but i dont pay no attention, its kinda fun to drive. the boyfriend didnt believe me so he drove it for himself. aint made fun of it since. he had a blast driving the mini beast. i spend about 35 dollars for gas a week for it. and thats my 20 mile round trips to school everyday plus weekends. im gettin a job this summer and im saving for a truck. thinking like a chevy 1500 or something kind of small like that. i dont know... i just know i want a black one. whatever catches my eye i suppose. my dream would be a F-350 King Ranch edition. i dont know what it is but i want one.

dad bought a GTO brand new for $300. dont know what year that was, ill ask later. wish he still had it and so does he.

I ended up hating every vehicle I ever owned .I can't tolerate anything that gives any trouble . Sooner or later they all give trouble . My dad had a 48 Studebaker grain truck, I guess I would like to have that back .

My first car was a 67 GTO. Marina blue, black int, 400, 4v, 4spd. It's been in my Mom's garage for the past 10 years or so. Finally made up my mind to sell it, got a friend of mine to bring it down to my house last night on his rollback. Stared at the darn thing all day while I was servicing the tractors today. Don't know if I'll be able to sell it or not.

1985 Mazda RX-7 with the rotary engine. Smoothest car I ever drove. Sold it when I married my ex wife. Should have kept the car and got rid of her instead. I also had a 1980 Camaro at one point that was a lot of fun.

I drive a 2001 single cab black chevy 1500 right now I luv it and Im not a big chevy fan Im a Dodge/Ford truck fan but right know 22mpg I cant be mad over that. Plus I got it for $6200 not to bad its likes new and drives great!!!! But my dream is my big Black standerd dodge 2500 or 3500 four door 8)

1989 Ford F-250 Lariat, 351, power everything, black, with 5 inch chrome tips it was "the" truck.
1984 Ford F-250 4 on the floor, 460 engine 4 miles a gallon, don't miss that but miss the power.

1966 Mustang. My first car. Pegged it coming down Monarch pass had my buddy in the car with me. He claimed to be an athiest. If I remember right he found God around 125 MPH. Never did that again. Sure miss that car though

1958 chevy stepside. It would stall when you hit a puddle. I would have to wait 10 or 20 minutes before it would start again (had to wait for the water to evaporate i'm guessing). Harmonic balancer would fall off whenever I drove down hill (had a 327 small block in it). First and only time I found a kitty on top of the engine after I started it. I wish I never got rid of it.

When I was in high school I hauled hay saved my money and bought a 1949 Crosley station wagon.
It got 55 mile to the gallon. With the gass prices back then I could run all week on $5 of gas. Was a lot less when the gas stations would have a gas war. I've seen gas drop to $.18 a gallon. But then I wasen't making much more than $40 or $50 on a good week.

I miss my Ford that burned!!!

I had a 1972 Vega GT, four speed, tangerine with a wide black stripe. Looked like a Camero in the front. It was a fun little car. Back when Vegas were still good cars. That was the last

Cars I've owned:

64 Galaxie 500. Bought it for $800 in 71. Borrowed the money from my older brother. It was a tank and probably got about 5 mpg but gas was cheap then.

66 Impala. So-so car. All I remember was going through lots of used tires. Seemed like I had a flat once a week or so.

73 Datsun 260Z. Sporty looking but a piece of crap. Nothing but trouble. Paid 4900 for it and sold it a year later for 1900.

77 Mustang. First new car and a pretty good one. Wrecked it when drunk in 82.

82 Honda Prelude bought new. Good car, but wrecked that one, too.

89 Sable bought new. Pretty good car. Transmission went out in 98 so rather than spend the money got rid of it.

97 Tracer. Bought used in 98 and still driving it. Probably the best car overall I've had. Tune ups, oil changes, new tires and new brake pads is all I've ever done to it. Walked to work for almost 4 years so didn't see any sense in getting another car that would just sit in the driveway most of the time. Now that I'm driving to work again, a 25 mile round trip, I'm gonna be looking to get something a little bigger. The older I get, the smaller it gets. Pretty rough ride and even being in it for 15-20 minutes is starting to raise cain with my back, which isn't the best to begin with.

Unless I somehow become filthy rich I'll probably never buy another new car. Just can't see spending that kind of money with as little driving as I do. I guess somewhere along the line I've morphed into a practical old fogey

Around here, radiator fan does a good job of kitten population control. Have to fish a couple out of the fan shroud every year.

The only car that I've had that I would like to have back was a '66 Mustang that was fitted with a 351ci motor out of a wrecked Gran Torino. Would burn rubber on every gear shift if you knew what you were doing. :lol2:

I wished I had my '81 Chevy 3/4 ton back. Bought in High School from my uncle for 1200. After rebuilding the motor, It would flat fly down the road. Was clocked at 115. Thats almost too fast for an old farm truck. I repainted it fixed it up nice, then sold it when I got a newer (95) Ford F250. 460 with a 5 speed, would outrun anything but a gas station. Then traded it for my current (93) Ford F250. This one is deisel, loaded. Starting to give me alot of problems, so it may be getting replaced soon. I would love a new king ranch, but will settle for a plain one.

Don't fret old chap thats called aging. That's why they invented viagra. :lol2: You might get by without needing the bigger car if you take the pill at least 5 hours before driving. :secret: If there are problems being able to drive the small car after 4 hours call your Doctor.

My first car was a VW bug....wasn't a big thing back then but probalby got 40 mpg...held 8 gallons as best I remember...or was it 12 gallons. When it got to where it would run 60 mph I knew the valves needed adjusting. :) Wouldn't mind having it back now.
