Bulls...to buy or not to buy...

Help Support CattleToday:

The girls get timothy hay with an occasional alfalfa bale when it is colder. I know birth weight can be influence by feed but I know this wasn't a factor. Bull "111" consistently (as in 100%) of his calves were above 85 pounds and as much as 100+ pounds. Bull "140's" calves were all 70 to 85 pounds. All of our cows were pastured together and fed the exact same hay.

Update:
We bought the Summitcrest bull (#1) and the Traveler Bull (#4). Actually we bought the Traveler bull for a guy we are going to do shares with but decided to keep him for ourselves. We are sending the "111" bull to him for use on "big" cows. We turned them out on Sunday and they were busily checking all their new girlfriends out. I know that several of my cows were in raging heats just 30 days after calving so I expect they will be happy bulls very soon!!
