I show cattle at the state fair. In the barn i was in there were bulls, heifers, cows, and calves many of the heifers there including one of mine were in heat. But none of the bulls seemed to care! One Shorthorn bull came untied and wondered around the barn but did not seem to notice! When i made metion of this strange fact one guy said that becuase they had never been exposed to breeding they were ignorant of the fact that they should do anything!! Can this be true?

Sounds like bull to me (pardon the pun). If they don't know how to breed what would you do show them cow porn flicks? Either the heat scent was masked, or the bulls may have been fed out of breeding condition, or they are just dumb bulls with no libido.

I sure do agree..wouldn't even think of buying one of those "high dollar show" bulls for a breeding program. I hve several 8 month old longhorn calves which I steered about a month ago..they are trying like heck..libido is very important in any bull!!
