I don't usually raise a bull calf but this year do have one..I am ready to wean him at 6.5 months...he is South Devon...when I have weaned steers and heifers I have given them grain for their first three weeks then they have gone to sale or I have retained some of the heifers...when I wean this bull should I do anything different since I will be marketing him as a bull next spring? I live in western Oregon and feed my cows first cutting alfalfa and pasture..thanks

You need to keep him growing with the alfalfa and just feed enough grain to keep him in good shape, not fat.
