Hi all,
We are about to disc up some fields and seed common bermuda grass. How long should we let the grass establish itself before we allow our cows to graze the fields? 1 month? Next year? Somewhere in between? Thanks.

I would concider that pasture a hay meadow for this year and be happy to get a cutting or two from it. I think that the hay equipment might be a little more eazy on the new pastures then the cows might be, I would be afraid that the cows might be pulling to much on the shallow and young roots systems. After the first year then I would allow the cattle to graze.

i wouldnt waste time on common bermuda although its fine in its place, but it will need a full year before i would turn them in on seeded bermuda to let the root system get established. although common is hardy id leave the cattle off that long. once it gets going then your set
