Angus heifer and her first steer calf born in March. The other steer is out of an angus cow.

Thanks, hopefully I will get some picture shots on other calves when we penning them up for weaning in few days. I'm gonna keep that full belted calf for the freezer beef.
 
how do they sell through the saleyards? We were thinking about using a Galloway over our Angus & Lowline cows but were told they get docked to pretty heavy as no one wants them

I took some dock but not that bad since I only had one or three belted calves in the whole calf crop. The belted Galloway cross do makes great momma cows.... the cows stay small but will wean off heavy calves. Few commercial operators in our area are starting to using belted galloway cross cows as commercial cows, but nobody are using belted Galloway bulls on their cows.
 
Thanks this gives us something to think about will ask our new auctioneer what he thinks our paycheck would look like if we sold some crosses
