I would rather argue a fence topic here I would get a better and more honest response, by people not afraid to have their way challenged or to challenge mine. No malicious intent my friend, just the truth.
At base level, all evidence is anecdotal. It has to start somewhere. In science, whether physical (you use phsyical science in your fence work every day) , electrical, medical or any other type, the 1st observance or 'discovery' is anecdotal evidence.
Legitimate or proven evidence is simply that anecdotally (is that even a word?) evidenced procedure or observance which has been shown to be repeatable under the same or similar circumstances but that doesn't change the absolute importance of the anecdotal evidence that started it all..
If all anecdotal evidence was discarded out of hand, we would never advance.
