b-i-l asked me to ask..real wood pistol grip for Rem 1100?

I don't know why he wants it, but he's looking for a real wood pistol grip to replace the stock on his old Remington 1100 12ga.

I know composite material pistol grips are available, but he wants wood to match the fore grip.

Anything like this out there?

Not really. I do a fair bit of gun work and wood is not a great material for that particular area of a stock. It sticks out like a sore thumb and wood in that location would get pretty beat up pretty quick. Defeating the whole reason for having it in the first place....to look nice.

If he wants matching would he settle for a composite material fore grip to match his pistol grip? I have one like that and it almost looks tacticool.

No thanks.
In this state, trying to take a shotgun (or any other firearm) from it's rightful owner rarely ends up well for the person trying to take it.

Like I said, I don't know why he wants it. Don't even know if he wants a true pistol grip like this:

I told him he could probably have the pistolgrip dipped with wood grain to kind of match if it was that big of a deal.

I have a 20ga Mossburg pump with a Hogue pistol grip for my wife to use home defense. She can handle it pretty good but I don't care whether the composite grip matches the fore grip or not. As long as she doesn't shoot me or blow holes in the ceiling when someone comes in, it's all good. (I do need to shorten the barrel some tho)
