I'm curious to know the average range of frame sizes for various beef breeds. Been searching online for awhile, and its hard to find. So far, I've found that Red Poll are apparently 3 to 5. I realize there is a wide variety within each breed, but I'm still curious what kind of ranges the breeds have.

I personally like small framed cattle, so I'm especially interested in which breeds are considered small (but still curious to see what frame scores the large breeds have too).

i would say in general you can find about anything from 4 to 8 in about all breeds, but to stay closer to mid size cattle you might stick with english genetics. and for what it's worth i have a reg red poll bull thats a 6.5 frame bull. and he is just 22 mo old.

All major breeds have varied in frame size through the ages, but most in this day in age are 5.5 - 6.5, but can vary from around 3 to 9.
