anyone fighting enterotoxemia or clos. perf. C&D?

We call it overeating disease, and we lose at least one calf every spring to it, generally a large calf doing very well and getting lots of milk.

How do you deal with it? Do you give baby calves anything at birth? We have tried both 7 way and the C&D antitoxin at birth but still seem to lose them.

Yes, from time to time we have trouble . Always from the kind of calf you describe . This is in Holstein bottle calves . We've been using C&D antitoxin and Ultrabac CD repeat Ultrabac CD in 14 days . I really question whether it does any good . Watch out for that C&D antitoxin the reactions can be bad .
