I am looking for a good broad form antibiotic to keep on hand for my cattle.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Anyone have any suggestions?
Other than the Draxxin, I have all of those plus Bannamine.I always have LA300, Draxxin & Sustain III Cattle Boluses. Baytril & Resflor Gold for respiratory. Other than LA and Sustain, you'll need a RX so ask your vet what he/she recommends for your area & operation.
Still giving you credit for reminding me about Banamine Transdermal. And from now on, I will always have it on hand! Best thing since sliced bread and worked like a charm treating weaners with pneumonia.Other than the Draxxin, I have all of those plus Bannamine.
That's a new one to me. What's the active ingredient? What do you use it to treat?Borgal
Seems to me the first bottle I got the vet prescribed for follow up treatment after a c-section that didn't go well. Since then it has been recommended to me for use in foot rot, joint ill, and respiratory infections. That's a new one to me. What's the active ingredient? What do you use it to treat?
I see now it is not on Merck's list of products offered in the US on their website. Not sure if BORGAL is licensed yet down here ???
If you can't get Draxxin or can't afford a whole bottle find a rancher and buy a syringe full and keep it inside the houseI always have LA300, Draxxin & Sustain III Cattle Boluses. Baytril & Resflor Gold for respiratory. Other than LA and Sustain, you'll need a RX so ask your vet what he/she recommends for your area & operation.
And they FINALLY brought Sustain for calves back on the market, I believe last fall, after it had been unavailable for a couple years. Yeah, I stocked up!I have LA-200, Penicillin, and Draxxin. I also have sulfa drugs in calf and cow size pills.
The same thing is sold under trade name of Trimidox, not sure if the original Trivetrin is still aroundI see now it is not on Merck's list of products offered in the US on their website.
According to the FDA:Boreal- Trimethoprim / Sulfa is illegal in food producing animals in US. Works well for scours
