In the past when I have purchased my beef calfs they have already had there shots. But this time I was told no shots have been given. The seller told be it would be a good idea to give them antibiotics. I said you mean their vaccines and he said they are the same thing. Are they they the same? Any info would be great.
Thanks!

The seller is not correct. Vaccines are preventative. Antibiotics are TREATment. Depending on your area, specific vaccines are recommended. If the calves came through a salebarn or from/through an unhealthy environment, antibiotics may be called for. But only if you are actaully treating something, not used in a shotgun approach.
