A good year for apples

Ended up with several canned jars and some in the dehydrator. Sliced some golden delicious apples and sprinkled cinnamon on them for the apple chips in the dehydrator. They are good flavor apples, and the canned apples with the brine mix pressured should make good apple pies or fried pies. A few of the cattle got a bite of the apple peels/cores and enjoyed. The apple peeler works good.

We made 75 qts of applesauce, 50 pints of apple butter. We have a agricultural center that has a cannery that we can use so it only takes about a half a day to make.

You'll made a lot. We used to make apple butter over a fire outside. I still have the brass kettle, stand and stirrer, but have not used in in a few years.

There's three families and we always make enough for all three. The girls are going back in a couple of days to make a second run. We live in the Apple capital of North Georgia. It's just about the end of the season so you can get apples at a big discount before the Apple houses close for the year. Can't remember how much it cost per jar but it was ridiculously cheap.

Put some of the apples to use from the OP for Christmas pies. My wife made a couple and I put the lattice on. I thought I had done a good job on the lattice, but after looking closely I missed a few loops.
