5 yr old paint gelding

my neighbor has a 5 yr old paint gelding. the horse acts like its much older due to its easy nature and basic slow movements. a real easy horse for my interaction. she wants to sell it.

i have been told not to get another younger than 10.

comments?

is it possible or realistic to expect a 5 yr old gelding to be easy and like a 15 yr old?

The measure of a horse is not necessarily in his age. I personally would not hesitate. Ask if you can just borrow it for a while since it is a neighbor. If it works out them you both win.

I agree with the previous post, just because it's 5 doesn't mean it's not easy going and well mannered. Go to your neighbors and ask to ride it for a couple of weeks before yo make up your mind.
