Old roping video from the 60's

Help Support CattleToday:

That's not so strange here. I know of a few ladies who were roping then for sport. A few were even working in the branding pens on a regular basis.

On second look, and considering it was the 60's, that may have been a guy. My momma was a pretty good hand, and the 50's and 60's would have been her era. Nerves melted on her. She can't hardly be around a horse or cow now.

They had strap on horns on most of those calves to. Looked exactly like what we use today. Might have even stayed on a little better.

I like old videos of cattle or horses. I remember as a kid, seeing people with a side arm spin to their rope, like some of the guys in the video.

When I started in the early 90's we used the strap-on horns a lot also. Fresh mulies are a challenge to heel. I noticed they are both coming out from the right hand side of the chute also.

There's another neat video I saw while on youtube. Rodeo History: "California Rodeo at Salinas" 1935
