Bred heifer and cow prices seem to be way up at this point here in central Montana. We had been in a significant drought the past 2 years leading to a lot of herds selling off some numbers and though this year was below average late in the year we had some good rain bringing optimism. That and now some good wet snow starting off our winter has really brought some optimism and at the sale barns we are regularly seeing bred heifers push 2000 and at the montana angus female bonanza 932 AI bred heifers averaged 2080 with a top of 2300 and the pasture bred ones averaged 1862. I would imagine the ones at registered bull sales coming up will be even higher but depending on what you are buying you can find some cheaper too
