Here is my son's calf for the 2008 show year.
He is an Almost Famous calf.

Looks like he should do your son really well. From looking at the pictures, it seems to me that he is going to need to be BIG!!! I don't like how high he is in the flank, but when he gets fatter that should come down some. Overall, good steer.

I just want to keep him under 1400. I think we can do that. I don't know much about picking small framed calves I guess.

I like him. Pictures aren't the greatest but from what I can see, he looks good. He looks huge! A Fillmore calf?

yup, Fillmore calf. He is more powerful than big. Gary is thinking maybe a 1350# calf.

I think this calf will get better as he gets fatter. If he gets finished in the end he will be hard to beat.

I got some steers from Filmore this year, I also got a heifer and I like them alot!! I think they will do good

Thanks for the positive comments!! He is a super sweetie too. This is our 3rd Fillmore calf and his last year was awesome. Just too big. The heifer is a big girl. I need to get her preg checked.

nice looking calf, he will get big.
he needs his halter fixed, it needs to be put up on his nose a little higher.

His halter is fixed now. He is much nicer too!!! Ya, he is pretty much broke.

Ya, I remember that guy from Arkansas. He bought several. I helped with the sale, so that is how I remember him.
He didn't buy cheaper one's either!! I think they will do well for you.

Is this a current pic? if so when is his target show? How much does he weigh? what class are you shooting at light med heavy?

this picture was taken yesterday 1/27/08. We will weigh in on Saturday. I am guessing about 750? Show is around the 18th of August and we want to be under 1400#. I would like about 1370 or so.

That's only 3 pounds a day gain. You had better keep him on a diet or he will be way over 1400.
