I have lost 2 older cows last year due to cancer eye. I do not run pure herefords but I think thye had some hereford bloodlines from somewhere. I recently told my cattle buyer I do not want any more white eye pigment cows. I think it is worse in Fl. due to the sun.

Dun If my cows looked like this maybe I could make some money.

gerardplauche I do would like to add some Herefords. They do not do well at the auctions here in Fl. so how well do they do La. Do you see many Herefords in your area? Black Baldies do fair a little better here.

Is it a good trait for the hip bone to be higher than the shoulders?

Will herefords wean higher than an Angus calf. I know a very broad question but they always seem to be so much bigger than Angus calves. Like I said on an earlier post you do not see many Herefords here in Fl. for some reason. :dunce:

Vett We have had only 1" in 8 weeks. I was talking to an oldtimer Sat. and for us to be still putting out hay this time of year in unbelievable. :mad: Yea I could probably use this heifer in about 12 months but two long for me so I will probably sell her at weaning.

I have never kept back any heifers due to using more of a terminal bull. Any potential with this 4 month old heifer?

I am not sure but has some Hereford in Him. I also bought him at a sale 2 years ago and has produced two nice red calves. It might be a cracker cow.
