    COWHAND????????????

Zeb. I always did think that was a catchy name. Something to consider next time you get near 1000 posts, Bez.

    Rotary Cutter for Pasture Clipping

My in-laws have a 10 ft Sidewinder I believe is the name. The run it over things that it shouldn't run over. It seems pretty tough. As I said, not positive on the name. We use a Bush Hog 3210 with the 100+ HP gear boxes.

    slip clutch

We've got the same model and it gets parked in a shed most of the time, but you never know if the plates might get rusty. Here's what we do, we use the same procedure on the post hole digger: loosen all the bolts just enough until is slips freely and let it slip for a few seconds. This burns...

    Fuel mileage truck

It's OK bama, as long as you can still cook up a mean put of stew, we'll look past your less than handsome mug.  Of course me saying this is definitely the pot calling the kettle black.

    bushog/cutter stuck on trailer

One more idea to try. Next time you load, chain down your bushhog after you load it, then it won't move.

    Rebuilt John Deere Engines

I've had good luck with these guys as well: http://www.worthingtonagparts.com/ They also have several salvage yards around the country and deal in both used and rebuilt parts. They have an online catalog where you can put in the make and model of your tractor and select the engine catagory...

    Hay Making Equipment Recommendations

As far as the tractor, a 4020 should easily do what you are wanting, a little overkill for raking, but unless you buy a smaller tractor just for that (probably not feasible), it's your only option. These are just my opinions and the prices I've observed on good used equipment in these parts...

    Disk mower or hay bine

We bought a New Holland 1409 discbine last year and wouldn't trade it for the world. Have hit a few small rocks with it (nothing broken so far), blades are quickly and easily changed or flipped over. Blades are also much cheaper than sections, maybe not per piece, but if you have to replace...

Time for a new superduty Your thoughts

Touche' Flaboy. But I think you are a little confused. The name Stroker pretty much sums it up for the guys that I know who drive Fords.  I know, I know, we don't want to turn this into a mudslinging match, but it is fun for a little while. ;-)

Time for a new superduty Your thoughts

Most certainly, Pat. It may take a little while but I think we can get some of these yayhoo's converted and get a bunch of those power jokes off the road. ;-)  Kaneranch: If you are implying the Ford owns Cummins, you are sadly mistaken. Do a little research. I can't find...

Pat, I knew there was some reason I liked you. ;-)

    Cotter pins

How about old tie-rod ends being used for hitch pins???

    oliver plows

Too bad you're not in the market for an IH. I know where there is a set of 5-16's semi mounted for $100 a board. It even has new coulters on it.

    1/2 tons and goosenecks

Your theory of using the smallest adequate tool to do the job is OK. We use a slightly modified version of that: adequate size for the job plus 10-20% for when you start really pushing the equipment. ;-) For example: If your implements and/or hay equipment is all rated for a 65 hp tractor...

    Flatbed Trailers?

We've got a ProStock and I see lot's of them around. Not heard any bad stories about them. Seem to be built pretty heavy. The only brand I've seen built any heavier are PJ trailers. My brother-n-law has a PJ. The PJ's don't pull quite as nice as the ProStock's IMO.

    Super Chief

There are 3 or 4 stations that carry the E85 in Jefferson City (pop. @35,000). It is 10-15 cents cheaper than the 10% ethanol fuel. It makes sense since it is made from local corn that it would be cheaper. Now Biodiesel on the other hand, it is 10-15 cents higher. Go figure. I guess it...

    Super Chief

Haven't seen the new edition of the super duty, but then again, I'm not a Ford guy. I have however seen the E85 fuel sold in my area. There are several stations in town that carry it, along with biodiesel.

    IH 584 tractor

We had a 684 up until about 4 months ago. It was pretty fuel efficient, and was a decent loader tractor except it needed extra weight in the rear end. We had 600lbs of wheel weights on it at all times, and when it was muddy in the winter you had to use the 3 point spear to move bales around...

    More boost please...

Me too Flaboy. I've seen them lift heads, shuck pistons out the top and bottom, but never seen a block shear horizontally in half. That is pretty sweet (for everyone but him).

Would You Buy A Diesel LD Truck?

Aren't they using the 4BT engine in the Jeeps already? I may have heard wrong.
