    We raise purebred and commercial Shorthorns here in Saskatchewan. We sure like the hybrid vigour we get from breeding Charolais to the Shorthorn cow. Also seems to be good demand for blue roan heifers.

    We have had Shorthorns here ever since My Great Grandfather homesteaded here. Haven't had much reason to change to another breed. This picture is of some Shorthorn X Red Angus heifers sired by our bulls. I think they are going to grow into some pretty good cows.

    Randi glad to hear the bull is working good for. We sure like his grandsire, Bonanza, he will be going out to work this spring at 11 years old. Here is a picture of him taken a couple years ago.

    Taurus, yes the pictures are of Shorthorns. The Two red heifers are Shorthorn x Red Angus and the 2 black(blue) heifers are Shorthorn x Black Angus.

    I think it is important when you are getting into any breed, is to ask breeders questions on what has and hasn't work for them and find out some history of the breed. Good luck in your purchases.
