Somebody needed it more than me

What's that old song about mashing the brake to the floor and it felt like stepping on a plum? Can't stand a thief.

    Best radiator stop leak.

I agree. Cooling systems work best when they are unrestricted. I understand we all get in a pinch every now and then but the mechanic in a can stuff never really set my mind at ease like fixing it right does.

    Tractor Prices

So I know LS claims they are the same as a NH. All of our larger tractors are NH and one place I lease the landowner has an LS. Side by side I can find VERY few similarities between the two and they are the same year and hp. I mean, sure, it's a tractor I've used it to bush hog a little and fill...

    Grazing around wrapped hay ?

I've seen a few rows of haylage that were more grey (duct tape) than white. :)

    Clinton Chuckwagon Races

I have friends that go but I've never been personally. I've always been told there's two main campsites. One for the party crowd and one for the other folks just wanting to camp out and have a good time. It's a pretty big deal here and most anybody you walk up to on the street knows about the...

    Engine Oil level High

That's very interesting. Please keep us posted on what they say. If that old girl of mine has a cummins designed engine in it I may have to look at it harder when it gets high hours.

    Practice

That's awesome CB. If you learn on iron sights you'll appreciate that scope a lot more one day. I like to mount all my scopes on over under mounts just in case.

    Are we friends?

One reason I really enjoy this forum is because everybody here, even if they disagree at times, seems like the kind of folks I'd like to sit down and have a cup of coffee or a beer with.

    Engine Oil level High

M-5 are you sure this is a cummins? I have a t5050 which shows to be the same engine on tractor data but I never thought it was a cummins.

    Grazing around wrapped hay ?

I've been told by folks that wrap that cattle will chew into them. Maybe pile them all together and run a hot wire around it?

    Tractor Size and HP

I agree Nesi. Personally I like having as many tractors as I can  . But if you need the Swiss Army Knife tractor I'd suggest getting 4wd.

How soon can you catch and cut bull calves?

 fair enough. We band all of ours not long after they hit the ground. These are starting to cause problems because they are beginning to act like bulls.

Full circle ( long read and just rambling )

Me personally I want to build something to leave behind. I didn't come from a family that farmed. Brother man and myself have started from nothing and built as we are able to. Still small fries by any means but I've got an opportunity right now to grow our operation pretty substantially and it...

How soon can you catch and cut bull calves?

To ask the opposite of this question, what's "too big" to cut? I've got some 500+ pounders that came with a set of mismanaged cows and I haven't really figured out what to do with them yet.

    Tractor Size and HP

Also if you have rough fields there is a big bonus to having those big tires on the front too. :cowboy:

    air impacts

If you do a lot of maintenance on your own I'd suggest buying a quality impact. IR would probably be the best bang without breaking the bank. I mechanic for a living and have had quite a few impacts throughout the years. Snap on and Mac along with Matco do make quality impacts but the hardest...

    Long Way from 2011

That's some good looking ground CB.

    Tractor Size and HP

I disagree. It depends on what your ground is like. Our "flat" fields are usually the ones that hold water the best so you may or may not run into some bad spots. Most are hills. On steep grades I feel that having the front end pulling is better that just lugging the tractor. Besides if I can...

    Kubota L305

I've found some information on that site but not quite what I'm needing to know. I've talked to three different Kubota dealers and looked all over online and none of them can answer my question. It's an older model made in Japan so I'm not surprised information is limited. Was also told the 305...
