I am selling three 4-6 yr olds heavy bred this weekend and one 1 st time brahma heifer with a good bull calf in Emory, TX. Not sure what i can expect out of the sale. I dont trust the internet numbers they have on their website. Anybody have an idea what these have been going for lately...

    Does anyone

If I were you, I would start with older cows that are heavy bred. Maybe 3 Short Solid cows that are heavy bred to calf in early spring. If you buy young calfs, there is no telling if they are wild or not. If you are a newbie and have a couple wild calves, that is a big headache. Usually...

    No Teeth

Wanted to get some of yalls opinions on a cow I purchased at the sale barn. She is a big braford cow that is 7 months bred, but she was sold as no teeth. I went out before and checked in the lot and really liked her. She has good bags, composition, and is gentle as far as I can tell so far...

    Coyote Problem

I didn't realize what an argument this would turn into. Appreciate all of the advice from all of you, good or bad. For now I think we have solved some of the issue. I ran into a guy who gave me two Jennies for free and they are working fine for now. We haven't had any more run ins so far...

    Most efficent cattle

In your opinion what would be the most efficent cattle or crossbred cattle in my area. Our farm is one hour east of Dallas, TX. We have 80% pasture of 125 acres. It gets very hot in the summer here. We do not supplement feed our cattle, they are all grass fed. I am looking for the most bang...

    Coyote Problem

Appreciate all the feedback. We actually witnessed 7 coyotes eating a calf that they killed earlier this year. We have hunted them with calls, motion decoys, etc. No luck. These are smart dudes. We usually have no problem calling a coyote up. The problem is my neighbor has hunted them...

    Coyote Problem

Just curious, how hard of a keeper are llamas. Do they take special feed, or can you leave with the herd and feed them like you feed the cows.

    Coyote Problem

We have about 30 head of cattle and we are weekend farmers. We get up there twice a week usually. We have a coyote problem that is getting rapidly worse. We used to have a donkey and never had any problems, but he kept breaking fences to get to other donkeys a pasture away so we gave him...

    Bleeding Calf Sydrome???

We had a calf saturday evening look lethargic. We thought it was no big deal and went back up there sunday morning to give it some antibiotic shots. Well, we get there and it is standing by itself and it has blood coming from his eyes and nose pouring out. Within 20 minutes it was lying on...

    1998 Chevy AC problem

I have an interesting question. My AC on my 1998 Chevy 2500 went out. When the ABS light on the dash comes on the AC shuts off. When the ABS light goes off, the AC works again. Anybody ever heard of this. I replaced the control unit on the dash but that didn't work.
