Last year the shaft on my 15' bushhog snapped and the dealers wanted $1200. I went to a driveline shop and they repaired for $250.

It is more based on weight and if you decide to wean or not. But generally I will send them on their way between 6-8 months of age or about 500#'s. Some times if I have the feed I may hold them longer.

I have not seen green grass since May 2016. My place only had 3/4 of inch of rain from late May until November 27th. I sure hope 2017 is not a repeat.
